THE LOWDOWN

I started making movies as a kid when my brother and I got a hold of the family VHS recorder and began creating stop motion animation shorts with lego men and G.I. Joe's. After that, I pursued what has turned into a lifelong love affair with film and photography. I’ve also spent a few decades working alongside and learning from people in and out of the film industry, which has helped me apply more cinematic principles to my work.

I love storytelling for the creative fulfillment it brings me, but more importantly for the opportunity it grants people, places, and communities to be seen and heard that might not otherwise have been able to. Getting the chance to share a story with dignity, beauty, compassion, and nuance is a privilege I don’t take for granted.

A VERY PARTICULAR SET OF SKILLS

I've worked with 16mm, Sony Cinema Cameras, Reds, DSLRs (with and without Magic Lantern), Blackmagic Cinema Cameras, Arri Alexas, and ENG cameras. I currently shoot with a Panasonic GH6. All of these tools are wonderful, but I believe the best camera I have is the one in my pocket.

I work primarily in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Audition. However, I also frequently use DaVinci Resolve if it fits the job. I have found each piece of software to have its advantages, so there's no reason to pigeonhole myself with just one.

I'm not prone to being loquacious, so I will let my work speak for itself and let you decide if I'm the right fit for your project. I'm always looking for new learning opportunities and am willing to do whatever it takes to make something extraordinary.

 Let’s tell a story.
